Since the company’s inception in 2010, Scott T. Sohr and the team at Elmington Capital Group have realized the downturn in the real estate market as a boon for the firm’s investors. A prime Scott T. Sohr project is the Cabot Ridge development in the greater Knoxville area. Under the direction of Scott T. Sohr, Elmington Homes paid $492,500 for 34 lots in the Wellington Chase development. Scott T. Sohr reports plans to break ground on many new home sites in the coming months.
According to Scott T. Sohr, “The natural beauty of Knox County and East Tennessee can make for really elegant, peaceful neighborhoods.” The Cabot Ridge neighborhood, situated near the Knox-Loudon county line, is the second Scott T. Sohr development in the last few years. Scott T. Sohr says, “We’re delighted to be a part of Cabot Ridge, and believe that it can reach its full potential as a premier residential community.” Several homes along Rockford Lane were partly completed when the downturn of 2008 came about, Scott T. Sohr notes.
Scott T. Sohr, a serial entrepreneur from Middle Tennessee, is the founder of Elmington Capital Group, an investment firm in Nashville, Tennessee. Scott T. Sohr has developed many successful residential and commercial properties over the years, and he’s always looking to expand his success throughout the Southeast region of the United States. One of his most recent projects is located in Knoxville, Tennessee.
Q: Why Knoxville, and why now?
Scott T. Sohr: Well, Knoxville is located in one of the most beautiful parts of the great state of Tennessee. I mean, East Tennessee is just gorgeous, and Knoxville is located right at the base of the Smoky Mountains. The backdrop for our new developments couldn’t be more beautiful.
Q: Were there economic reasons for your decision to pursue this development?
Longtime real estate developer Scott T. Sohr calls Middle Tennesee home. In recent years, Scott T. Sohr has been the driving force behind developments like Arrington Retreat, Courtside at Southern Woods, Winterset Woods and other highly desirable subdivisions in the Williamson County area. In addition, Scott T. Sohr has other showpiece developments in the works right now, melding the ease and tranquility of country living with the modern amenities that homeowners have come to expect.
According to Scott T. Sohr, the county’s robust economy and low unemployment figures demonstrate that Williamson County is one of the most prosperous in the entire country. Tennessee’s lack of a state income tax and tax incentives for business have been behind much of the county’s growth in recent years. Scott T. Sohr also points out that Williamson County’s 38 schools regularly rank among the best in the state in student performance, outcomes and dropout rates.
